GREETINGS FROM
THE PARKING LOT
This historic event marked the first time the E Street Band played together in 11 years. The shows were particularly meaningful as they signified a kind of homecoming for Bruce, and the parking lot in the Meadowlands was a clear indication of the celebration that was to take place over the 15 night stand. Fans flew in from across the country and across the globe to take in Bruce Springsteen back in New Jersey.
In November of 1999, we released GREETINGS FROM THE PARKING LOT, a documentary that spanned those epic 15 nights with interviews of fans from around the world letting us know what Springsteen’s music and the anticipation of 15 nights of Bruce back in NJ meant to them.
In addition to fan comments, we tried to capture the carnival nature of the parking lot, adorned with signs, live music, party barbecues and an overall celebratory nature.
After 25 years, the spirit and passion for Springsteen’s music and live performances remains strong and touches new generations as the artist plays on into his 70’s. The comments from 1999 are as relevant today as 25 years ago, and we’re glad we captured them.
